DNS lookup

Looks up DNS records for a domain (A, AAAA, MX, TXT, NS, CAA and more), or does a reverse lookup for an IP address, through Cloudflare’s 1.1.1.1.

Open DNS lookup →

How to use it

  1. Type a domain (or paste a URL), or an IP address for a reverse lookup.
  2. Leave the type on ALL to see the common record types at once, or pick one.
  3. Press Look up.

Reading the results

A / AAAA
IPv4 / IPv6 addresses for the name.
CNAME
An alias: this name points to another name.
MX
Mail servers for the domain; lower number = higher priority.
TXT
Free text, used for SPF, site verification and more.
NS / SOA
The domain’s nameservers / its zone’s settings and serial number.
CAA
Which certificate authorities may issue certificates for the domain.
TTL
How many seconds resolvers may cache the answer.
NXDOMAIN
The name doesn’t exist.
DNSSEC validated
The answer’s signatures checked out at the resolver.

curl "https://tools.nexayori.com/dns?q=cloudflare.com&format=json"
qDomain, URL or IP address
typeALL (default), A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, NS, TXT, SOA, CAA, SRV, PTR, HTTPS, DS, DNSKEY
formattext, json or html

Questions

I changed a record but still see the old value.

Resolvers cache answers until the TTL runs out. Use DNS propagation to see which resolvers have the new value.

Why do A records differ each time?

Large sites rotate addresses or answer by location. That’s normal.
