Terms of Service

1. The Service

The Service provides free online tools through web pages and a plain-text/JSON interface. No account is required.

We may change, add, suspend or remove any tool or feature at any time, with or without notice.

2. Acceptable use

You agree to use the Service lawfully and responsibly. In particular, you will not:

• use the Service to attack, overload, probe or interfere with systems you don’t own or aren’t authorized to test;
• send automated requests at a volume or rate that degrades the Service for others, or try to get around any rate limit or block;
• use the Service to harass anyone, or to violate any law or anyone’s rights;
• attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, its administration area or its infrastructure;
• misrepresent results from the Service as an official certification or audit.

The open-port check only ever tests the address you connect from; it cannot be pointed at other systems.

Tools that look things up make ordinary public requests about the names and addresses you enter.

We may block or limit access for anyone who violates these terms or whose use threatens the Service or others.

3. Results are informational

Results reflect live data from third-party systems (DNS resolvers, nameservers, registries, websites and certificate logs) at the moment of the check. They can be incomplete, delayed, cached or wrong. Results are provided for information only and are not professional, security, legal or compliance advice. Verify anything important before relying on it.

4. Your use of results

You may use, copy and share the results you obtain from the Service for any lawful purpose. The website itself (its design, text and code) belongs to us and our licensors.

5. Advertising and third-party content

The Service is supported by advertising and may display ads provided by third parties. We are not responsible for third-party ads, websites or services, and your dealings with them are between you and them. Some tools contact third-party services on your behalf; see the Privacy Policy for which ones.

6. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE OR ERROR-FREE.

7. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, NEXAYORI LLC AND ITS MEMBERS, MANAGERS AND CONTRACTORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS OR BUSINESS, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO FIFTY U.S. DOLLARS (US$50). SOME JURISDICTIONS DON’T ALLOW THESE LIMITATIONS, SO THEY MAY NOT FULLY APPLY TO YOU.

8. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold NexaYori LLC harmless from claims, losses and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your misuse of the Service or your violation of these terms.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Virginia, and you consent to their jurisdiction.

10. Changes and general terms

We may update these terms. The effective date at the top shows when they last changed; continued use after a change means you accept it. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. These terms, with the Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service.
