Help / SEO & meta tag checker
SEO & meta tag checker
Fetches a page like a search engine and shows its Google result and link preview, plus a checklist of what to fix: title, description, canonical, indexing, headings, images, sharing tags and structured data.
How to use it
- Enter the page’s URL (a bare domain checks the home page).
- Look at the two previews: that’s roughly how the page appears in Google and when shared in chat or social apps.
- Work down the checks. Red items stop the page from showing up properly; yellow ones are worth fixing.
Reading the results
- Title
- The <title> tag: the clickable headline in search results. Keep it under about 60 characters.
- Meta description
- The summary under the title in results. About 120 to 160 characters works best.
- Canonical
- Tells search engines which URL is the “real” one when the same page has several addresses.
- noindex
- An instruction (in a meta tag or the X-Robots-Tag header) to keep the page out of search results.
- Open Graph
- og: tags that control the title, text and image of link previews in chat and social apps.
- Structured data
- JSON-LD that describes the page (article, product, FAQ…) so search engines can show rich results.
- Score
- A rough grade: each problem takes points off. Fix red first.
Examples
- github.com A well-tuned page
- developer.mozilla.org Docs site with structured data
From the command line
curl "https://tools.nexayori.com/seo?q=github.com" curl "https://tools.nexayori.com/seo?q=github.com&format=json"
| q | Page URL or domain |
| format | text (default for curl), json, or html |
Questions
Why does my page show different results here than in Google?
Google renders JavaScript and updates on its own schedule. This reads the HTML your server sends, which is what most crawlers and link previews see first.
Why isn’t my share image showing?
og:image must be a full https:// URL that loads without a login. Images around 1200 × 630 work best.
Is a perfect score required?
No. It’s a checklist, not a ranking factor. A missing description or canonical is worth fixing; info items are optional.
Limitations
- Reads the HTML the server sends; content added later by JavaScript isn’t seen.
- Checks the first 2 MB of the page.
